The Story

One of TOLHUIJS' characteristics is that we make products from the most diverse materials. Originally, the leg of the LOCO MOTIV was a hydraulic hose through which special coolant ran to cool the engine of train locomotives. After this hose has proven its worth and has brought countless people from point A to B, it eventually ends up on the scrap heap. Then of course we are there to give that hose a second life.

We collect this former train part dirty, smelly and sticky. This stainless hose is then fixed and cleaned. Then we give it a transparent coating to make the robust woven structure of the hose stand out even better.

The sustainable lamp itself is a unique mouth-blown LED lamp that fits perfectly with this leg. We just know that our unique LOCO MOTIV will be the eye-catcher of your living room.
