The St. John's Church

This 79-meter-high red tower is the only one in the Netherlands with this unique color. It wasn't always red; it has also been yellow and white. During the last restoration in 1984, it was painted red again. The tower was painted in the Middle Ages to protect the marlstone from the elements. The paint was made from marlstone impregnated with iron ore, resulting in an oxblood-colored paint.

This city tower is laser-cut from solid Dutch ash wood. Each tower has a unique look!
