City tower Laurenskerk Rotterdam Dutch wood FSC 100%
The Laurenskerk
The Laurenskerk is the only remaining building from Rotterdam's medieval city center. Construction began in 1449 and was completed at the end of the 15th century. Since then, the tower has had a spire several times, which has also been demolished several times for various construction reasons, including the use of poor-quality wood.
In 1940, the tower was severely damaged, and there was talk of its demolition. However, in 1962, Queen Juliana laid the foundation stone for the restoration, which was completed in 1968.
This city tower is laser-cut from solid Dutch ash wood. Each tower has a unique look!
